What is a cataract?
A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens in the eye. It usually occurs with age but may happen sooner with some medical conditions like diabetes or use of medications such as steroids. Sunlight over your lifetime and heredity may have a contribution as well.
The treatment is the same regardless of the cause. The natural lens must be replaced with a new artificial lens (implant) to restore the vision.
