Preparation

  • Print and fill out the New Patient forms and bring them to the visit.
  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow check in.
  • Bring a list of your medication, your current glasses, and contact lenses (bring the boxes or last RX so we know what you are wearing).
  • Be prepared to be dilated.  New patient exams, annual exams and some emergencies require a dilated exam.  Bring sunglasses and realize that vision will be bright and may be blurred.  Reading and near tasks will be blurry.  Your current glasses will help the blur and most patients drive themselves to and from the visit.  If you are concerned then arrange someone to drive you.

Insurance

Dr. Marschner is a participating provider with Medicare Part B and certain Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.  Most other insurance, including most Medicare Advantage plan PPO's, will be administrated through your out of network policy benefits. For questions, contact our office or your insurance customer service.
Payment is expected at the end of the visit for all copays, coinsurance, deductibles, refraction and non covered services.

Payment

We accept most major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Checks and Cash.

Refraction Policy

Refraction is the determination of ones best corrected vision using lenses or a phoropter (the thing we have you look through with all the dials).  It is always required to prescribe glasses, contacts and to evaluate any vision or headache complaint.  Refraction is first step to determine if a new medical problem exists or just a change in glasses.

Medicare and most insurances do not cover this part of the exam. You are responsible for this payment.
It is our policy to perform a refraction as follows
  • once annually for eyeglass and contact lens wearers to provide an up to date prescription throughout the year.
  • to evaluate a new complaint of blurred vision, change in vision, headache or double vision.
  • to evaluate a new decline in vision since your last visit.
  • to evaluate a vision that is not correcting to 20/20 in new patients.

We will see you with the understanding that you accept our policy and agree to the charges.

We Would Love To Have You Visit Soon!
